You've probably heard us talking about online funnels and sales funnels all over the Suite, right? But are you wondering just what a direct sales funnel actually is?
Have you ever read an article online (like say, maybe this one right here) and at some point in the article, there’s a call to action: click here for more information?
That, my friend, is a sales funnel.
As a direct seller, you are a business of one, so you need as many tools in your toolbox as possible. And a solid online direct sales funnel is an extremely powerful tool.

What exactly is a direct sales funnel?
A funnel is simply the process that moves your ideal client from Point A to Point B. A direct sales funnel could be moving a prospect to become a customer, a customer to a hostess, or a hostess to a team member. Or, it could be creating a web of social interaction, so no matter where your ideal client is- Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Youtube, Twitter- she’s following you on those channels.

How do sales funnels work?
A direct sales funnel entices someone to do something or give something, like an email address, in exchange for something else. The exchange brings them into the funnel.
Want a free sample?
Want a catalog?
Want a free printable?
Want more information?
Those are all lead magnets that pull someone into the funnel. The prospect wants the item, so she is willing to fill out a form, give you her email, follow you on a different channel, join your community, whatever it is you are asking to get the item.
How do I start building my funnel?
When you are building your direct sales funnel, start with the end in mind and think about what you want to accomplish with your funnel! Where do you want your prospect to end up? Is it in your Facebook community page, on your email list, in an opportunity group?

Think about where the prospect is starting. If she’s just learning about your product for the first time, it probably doesn’t make sense to invite her to join your team, but it would make sense to invite her to your community. But if she is reading a blog post about your enrollment kit, or seeing photos of it on Instagram, it would make complete sense to invite her to an opportunity group.
