Creating amazing video content is just the first step to building a strong video marketing strategy. If you really want to make an impact, you have to get more people to watch your video content.
In case you haven't noticed, that “getting more people to watch your video content” part is kind of a key factor to going viral.
But, if you want to get more people to watch and share your video content, they have to be able to find it. They have to know that it exists.
And that's just the beginning. How many times have you answered the same question for someone in your audience because they couldn't find something in one of your videos?
Tips to Get More People to Watch your Video Content
Out-Value your Competitors
300 hours of video content are uploaded to YouTube every minute. In 2018, there were 3.5 billion live broadcasts on Facebook. In 2019, LinkedIn launched its own live capabilities.
That's a lot of video content hitting the Internet. In fact, Google's search index contains hundreds of billions of webpages – and they say they haven't even indexed half of the webpages out there.
The last thing Google needs is more video content, right? There's already plenty out there for Google to choose from. What Google needs is better content. More valuable content. Content that is going to answer questions, resolve issues, and fulfill needs.
That's where you come in. If you want your video content to get found and get shared, it has to be valuable — it has to solve a need and it has to do it better than the other videos out there.
Make your Video Content Searchable
After you've put together all these answers, the next step is to make them searchable.
I'm not talking just about search engine optimization, although I'll touch on that in a minute. I mean make it so when someone goes to your site, or your group, or your course platform and wants to find the answer they're looking for, they can type in their question and find the exact video clip that answers their question.
Not just a list of possible videos that might help – the exact clip.
How?
We've been testing a new tool, Searchie, that makes your video content searchable.

What is Searchie?
Searchie is a new tool that indexes your video content to create a private database that is then searchable by your audience.
Essentially giving you a search engine just for your videos.
How Does Searchie Work?
Once you log into your Searchie account, you'll need to create at least one folder. Folders will help you organize your video content anyway you like. Once you have your folders set up, then you're ready to start adding in your video content.
You have the option to begin uploading your videos from a local drive or using one of the provided integrations to pull your video content directly from other channels.
Once your videos have been uploaded or imported into Searchie, you can select to process it. Simply find your video in your media list and click the “Add Media” button to process. Searchie will then show you a window with your current limits and you can choose to continue with the processing or cancel to be done later.
After you've uploaded at least one video, you can create your search widgets.
You then share your widgets with your audience, and they can use them to search through your entire library of video content in seconds.
Where can You Share your Searchie Widget?
You can share your Searchie widget anywhere your audience might be looking for your video content:
- Embed it onto your personal website
- Add it to your Facebook group
- Place it inside your course platform
Currently, there is no way to privatize your widgets, meaning that anyone with access to the widget can search and access any video content you've added (regardless if they would normally have access to the video itself). However, the widget does work on private platforms, so you can protect your premium content by controlling where you place the widgets.
Do You Need Searchie?
If video marketing makes up a large portion of your marketing strategy, and if your audience needs to be able to reference or find particular clips within your video content, then, yes, Searchie is for you.
Once again, your need for this tool is really going to depend on your overall strategy.
