I was talking with a Socialite tonight. She was expressing how frustrated she was a few months ago, when she saw leaders in her company doing things she didn’t believe were ethical or healthy for their businesses. These things resulted in shorter term gains. She stayed the course and taught her team what she believed to be the right methods – role model the behaviors, lead with value, build relationships. And today her team has caught up and passed those she was resentful of, and her team did it organically.

Direct sales is a lot like the story of the Tortoise and the Hare. There will always be hares who zip out fast, cut corners, try to be sneaky…. stay the course, move purposefully toward your goal, and win the race.
